YOUR MISSION:
As a Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/d)* on the Evaluations Platform team you will collaborate with Engineers, Scientists, and Product, building Parloa’s Evaluations Platform - enabling our customers to simulate agent behavior in custom scenarios and evaluate and monitor AI Agent behavior and performance both in simulations and production. You will be actively involved in improving our tools and processes to support collaboration and productivity as well as in cultivating an environment where we can all learn and grow.
Parloa has an office first hybrid in-office policy. Our team is usually in the office 2 to 3 days a week.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Work on our brand new LLM functionality to improve the customer service experience for millions of customers.
- Execute and lead projects end-to-end, including: collaborating with a product manager to understand user-facing requirements, leading architecture and system design, and non-functional requirements such as security, monitoring, & logging.
- Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable backend services in Python.
- Optimize system performance for low latency, high throughput, and reliability.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate machine learning components into production systems.
- Lead technical initiatives - design, planning, implementation, and maintenance (3-9 months horizon).
- Drive initiatives to improve operational excellence.
- Contribute to the evolution of our architecture and engineering culture.
Our Tech stack:
- LLMs: OpenAI and other LLM-as-a-Service providers, Prompt engineering, LLM finetuning
- FastAPI, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Terraform
- Docker, Helm, ArgoCD, Kubernetes
- Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn for efficient implementation
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- 7+ years of experience as a backend engineer
- Experience with highly scalable real-time micro-service architecture.
- Passion for writing clean and modular code that is easy to maintain, update, test and scale.
- Experience with version control systems, code review processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with owning the Backend service development process end-to-end: from gathering requirements to design to support and continuous improvement, monitoring and maintenance.
- Experience in leading medium-sized technical projects (3-9 months roadmap)
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in English.
